Large scale emergencies

• Receive call from Toronto Neighbourhood and Community Services
• Start LOG.
• Monitor ARES repeater frequencies.
• Alert other ECs
• Assign net control:
  • announce net
  • take check-ins on response sheet
  • determine a meeting place
  • pencil in possible positions
  • arrange VIP notification/wakeup calls if required
  • perform or assign Dispatch function
• Go to ESSOC
• Recruit a radio operator for ESSOC as Command/Control station
• Recruit a radio operator for ESSOC as Voice station
• Assign radio operator to:
  • EOC
  • Red Cross
• Assign site managers:
  • Reception/Evacuee Centres as given
• Assign radio operators for each site:
  • Command/Control
  • Voice
  • Other services as required

Manager functions:

• Liaise with person in charge of the site.
• Determine their radio needs.
• Place requests for radio needs on Command/Control or Talkin
• Get periodic reports from local C&C operator
• If you have a radio Listen to C&C channel only when not busy
• Listen to local simplex when busy for urgent relay messages

Command/Control Operator:

• Maintain LOG
• Listen to C&C channel constantly and pass ARES operation msgs
• Call manager on simplex only when urgent

Voice Operator:

• Maintain LOG
• Listen to Voice channel constantly and pass agency traffic
