6.0 | Outreach Staffing Bureau The purpose of the bureau is to receive out of town volunteers who have been recruited by various partnership agencies to deal with the emergency. The Bureau will be located in a suitable location where there is enough space for the number of staff, adequate telephone lines, photocopiers, and fax machines, and where radio communication will be possible if telephones are inoperable. The Bureau will be in a different location to ESSOC. |
7.0 | Reception-Evacuee Centre Each reception-evacuee centre may have a Reception Centre Site Manager or an Assistant Reception Centre Site Manager. Reporting to the manager will be a number of staff from various agencies, each with its own appointed supervisor and designated to carry out specific functions. |

19.1 | Reception-Evacuee Centre Space Allocation Areas in the Reception-Evacuee Centre are to be set aside for each of the services provided. Areas to be set up for: - Communication Centre - Operations Centre |
19.5 | Communication All messages and requests to and from are to be written, dated, timed, and signed. Management staff are to maintain a log. Communication is by telephone and if inoperable by ham radio. Staff are to speak distinctly on the telephone and radio, stating name and position, where calling from and what is conveyed. Runners will be appointed to deliver messages/instructions if communication equipment is not working. |
19.6 | Staffing The Reception-Evacuee Centre is staffed by personnel from: - Amateur Radio Emergency Service It is essential that there are adequate staff to carry out the functions, 24 hours a day, during an emergency and that staff are relieved from duty at appropriate intervals. All staff will work a 12 hour shift, with 1 day off after 5 consecutive days of work. The first group of staff may have to work a shorter or longer shift until the regular shift rotation can commence. No one should work longer than 13 hours at any given time. The duration of assignments should not exceed 20 days. |
